The purpose of the Folk Trust is to preserve America's Traditional Folk Heritage with the greatest fidelity possible, using the most innovative means, and then sharing it with like minded people.
TIME FRAME AND TOPICAL FOCUS
17th, 18th, and 19th Century Traditional Folk Heritage, including science, trade and craft, arts, folklore, storytelling, literature, music, dance, religion, pastimes, architecture, furniture, and furnishings.
EMPHASIS UPON PRIVATE EDUCATION
The Folk Trust collaborates with others to advance culture-based activities, with an emphasis upon the educational needs of private entities and individuals. This principally includes private, parochial, and home schools--as opposed to Government or For-Profit operated schools. We encourage mentoring, living history, continuing education, and other private means for delivering culture-based educational and enrichment experiences.
